Topcon Corneal Topographer
Corneal topography is a non-invasive medical technique for mapping the corneal surface assisted by computer analysis. Topography is performed by projecting illuminated rings onto the corneal surface which are then reflected back and measured by the instrument. The ring pattern is analyzed generating a three-dimensional map of the corneal surface. This information is used to identify distortions which can aid in the diagnosis of disease's such as keratoconus. Corneal topography is also utilized to screen refractive surgery patients and in the fitting of contact lenses.
